A gut-wrenching novel
I'm currently reading the very haunting Homegoing, by Yaa Gyasi. It follows two family lines descended from half-sisters born near Africa's Gold Coast (current-day Ghana) in the 18th century. It's an unblinking telling of horrific fates during the slave trade--and yet there are moments tinged with hope and certainly with love. Although I'm only a few chapters in, I'm definitely hooked, and I highly recommend the book. If you read it, drop a comment below to tell me what you think!
I’ve been inspired by many people and events. I hope to share at least a little of that inspiration.
